A few more from summer

Recording of a walk under the 7 train El in Queens, recorded December 18, 2021

Before I post some photos from my recent trip in October, I wanted to put up a few photos from this summer (and one from last) in Philly and New York. They’re mostly typical days, not necessarily doing anything special, just exploring the city and enjoying time with friends and my girlfriend. Lazy days, fun days, warm days.

In order of appearance:

(1) AAA Frankford store & street portrait of CJ in Frankford (2) Under the El in Frankford (3) Under the 7 El in Jackson Heights (4) Santangelo and Kyle at Ray’s Happy Birthday Bar (5) Catt at La Colombe Fishtown (6) The time when 676 turned into a canal due to flooding (7) Roosevelt Ave, Flushing (8) Catt around Philly (9) Aesthetics of Queens (10) Living room blues (11) South Philly sunset

Also featured at the end is a “field recording” of sorts. I started doing this in Egypt, where the beautiful chaos of the streets makes for constant urban white noise. I made the above recording last weekend when I was in Queens again, walking between the Junction Blvd and 82nd St. stops of the 7 train, in the Central & South American neighborhoods under the el. Hope you enjoy!
