Hidden City Philadelphia – The Gallery: Finally The Destination Ed Bacon Hoped For?
An essay on Philadelphia’s Gallery at Market East, an urban mall originally envisioned by planner Ed Bacon in the 1950’s. The project never turned out quite as he wished, but now that it is under renovation by PREIT, a major Pennsylvania mall owner, it may retroactively achieve some of Bacon’s original goals and help to reinvigorate this part of the city.

An op-ed written on behalf of 5th Square Political Action Committee, in collaboration with Transit Forward Philadelphia. As SEPTA actively explores redesigning its bus network, we argue that Philadelphia city council has failed to do its part in advancing the state of bus transportation in Philadelphia and outline a series of actions that council could take to improve service.
